Meet the Principal

Katie Matthews has been the Principal of Grove Avenue Elementary since the 2016-17 school year. 

Before coming to Grove, she was the Principal at Willow Creek Elementary School in Woodridge School District 68. She also served as the Assistant Principal of Ivy Hill Elementary School, Dryden Elementary School, and Westgate Elementary School in Arlington Heights School District 25.

Principal Matthews began her career as a fifth grade teacher in St. Charles School District 303, where she also served as the ELL Summer School Principal.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership through National Louis University.
